Sometimes the most helpful thing you can do is look at what the brain is actually doing.
*Talk to someone who understands what you are facing.
Brain mapping and neurofeedback give us a window into your nervous system and a way to help it regulate, so change happens at a deeper level than talk alone can reach. At Compass, this work is data-guided and led by our Clinical Director, Dr. Martin Kaufmann.
Quantitative EEG, or qEEG, measures patterns of electrical activity across the brain and compares them to healthy norms. The result is a map that shows how your brain is actually functioning, including the patterns associated with anxiety, trauma, poor focus, and dysregulation. That assessment guides a personalized neurotherapy plan rather than a one-size-fits-all protocol.
Neurofeedback is brain training. Using the qEEG map as a guide, it helps your brain learn to produce healthier, more regulated patterns over time. It is non-invasive and painless. Sensors read your brain activity while you train, and the brain gradually learns to self-regulate, much like building a muscle through repetition.
Supports calmer, more regulated nervous system function
Complements therapy for trauma, anxiety, and addiction
Improves focus, sleep, and emotional control for many clients
Gives clinicians objective data to guide and adjust your care
Reaches patterns that talk therapy alone often cannot
Our brain-based work is led by Clinical Director Dr. Martin Kaufmann, PhD, LPC, who integrates current therapeutic theory with qEEG assessment and a full suite of neurotherapy tools. He also serves as affiliate faculty in a graduate clinical mental health counseling program. This depth of expertise is one of the things that makes Compass care different.
Brain mapping (qEEG) is the assessment that shows how your brain is functioning. Neurofeedback is the training that uses that data to help your brain regulate more effectively.
No. It is completely non-invasive. Sensors read brain activity while you train, with no discomfort and no medication.
It can support recovery from trauma, anxiety, and addiction, and many clients see improvements in focus, sleep, and emotional regulation.
Our Clinical Director, Dr. Martin Kaufmann, PhD, LPC, leads our neurotherapy, integrating qEEG and neurofeedback with evidence-based counseling.
